The CoDev Event Rundown – January-February 2023

This is the CoDev Event Rundown, where we list all of the latest events and activities that have happened here at CoDev. Here’s what went down at CoDev last January through February:

  • January Learning Session: How to Achieve BIG Things in 2023! Last January 10 Sir Kyle Clark, VP of Sales who has been with CoDev for 12 years, shared his knowledge and expertise on effective goal setting and how to execute plans and reach those goals to create a more meaningful life.
  • January Virtual Dev Meetup: Getting Used To Hooks – On January 25 Senior ReactJS Developer Ron Terrie Soriano shared his knowledge and expertise on getting used to hooks, teaching participants how to level up their way of writing components and enabling them to write concise and clearer codes. 
  • Google Developer Student Clubs Solution Challenge – CoDev proudly supported the Google Developer Student Clubs Cebu Institute of Technology – University Solution Challenge Info Session, an event organized by students to help them gain knowledge and confidence in their pursuit of innovative solutions to real-world problems.
  • February Learning Session: Positivity as a Catalyst for Success! – On February 2, CoDev’s Senior Account Executive Brent Green shared his own life experiences to teach participants the power of positivity and how it can affect and direct our lives.

  • Opening of Our New Bacolod City Office – At the beginning of February the team in Bacolod celebrated the opening of their brand new office. The opening was attended by CoDev CEO Landon Essig and Senior Account Executive Brent Green, who also came to the Cebu office for the month’s learning session. The new office is located at St. Francis Center, Araneta St., Singcang, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.

  • Fast Friends: Speed Dating for Friendships – Among CoDev’s Valentine’s Day activities held last February 13 and 14 was Fast Friends, a speed dating activity. Participants were able to meet and learn more about their teammates and build new friendships.
  • February Learning Session: Building Friendship To Enrich A Relationship! – Another of CoDev’s Hearts Day activities was a learning session from our very own career coach and Registered Guidance Counselor Lilbeth S. Reniva-Gorgonio. Coach Beth talked about the power of friendship in sustaining healthy relationships.
  • School Partnerships in Mindanao – Last February 17 our Davao team had an exclusive recruitment day at Ateneo de Davao University. The event is among the many more that our Davao team hopes to have in partnership with local schools. Malayan Colleges of Davao is another of our school partners in Mindanao.   • Jobstreet Philippines Career Fair in Bacolod – On February 18 CoDev took part in the Jobstreet Career Fair at SM City Bacolod Main Atrium. CoDev offered a number of open positions for its Bacolod office to interested and qualified candidates.
  • February Learning Session: Business Acumen 101: Tech Orientation for Non-Developers – On February 23 our People Operations Manager, Samantha Ariane Samson shared in-depth insights and knowledge on the IT BPO/tech industry and the business itself. This session allowed even CoDev’s non-developer team members to get a better understanding of how the business operates and the latest technologies in use.
  • Pycon Philippines 2023 – This year CoDev was one of the gold sponsors for Pycon Philippines, a non-profit annual conference centered around Python programming. It was held on February 25-26 at Bayleaf Hotel Intramuros, Manila. One of our very own full-stack developers, Justine Paul Ballares was a speaker at the event and shared his insights on the latest trends and technologies related to Python development.
  • February Virtual Dev Meetup: Navigating the DevOps: DevOps Lifecycle Fundamentals – On the last day of February CoDev held its monthly Dev Meetup, with multi-certified DevOps Engineer Nixon Coronado talking about DevOps Lifecycle Fundamentals. This talk helped others to adopt the DevOps way of thinking and working, which improves their speed and adaptability.
