MassKara Festival is an annual event in Bacolod that dates back to the 1980s. It was created to lift the spirits of the people of Bacolod, who faced numerous challenges and tragedies during that time, including a tragic ferry accident that took the lives of many of their friends and family. The smiling masks were a declaration that the people of Bacolod would pull through and survive despite all the hardships.
We’re inspired by the spirit and perseverance of the Bacolodnons, and are thrilled to have been a part of such an amazing event. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and participated in our activities, and shared their smiles with us.
